New York in my heart
Snow has fallen over New York, so it’s time for me to leave. There are so many mixed feelings about this departure: I am very happy to head home to see friend and family and of course Baccardi but it also very sad to leave this fantastic city and what has become my home over the last 4 months. Once I close this door on 79:th behind me it will be like closing a chapter of my life which I am not completely sure I am ready to close.
It is going to be amazing coming home to somewhat of a structure and I guess I might be a bit over-sentimental. New York is forever in my heart!
Thank you to everyone that made this dream become reality! No words could ever describe how happy I am to have done this or how much fun I have had!

My home!
Love to you all and Merry Christmas!!!
I did it!!!
My first week in New York I had alot of free time so i Said i would walk all the way around Central Park which is almost 1 Swedish mile all of the sudden School had started and time was not flying around like before but I still said i would do it before I left this continent for Christmas…. There is only a week left here so today I put on whatever could resemble a proper winter outfit in my wardrobe – cause it is frickin´ cold here now- - and headed out with Sanna for my Mission. So CHECK!!
I know once again I have not been very good at updating…. But now I am sitting here on my quiet Friday night in and I have done schoolwork, washing up, cleaning and so on and thought it was about time. The week ahead of me is going to be insane… So many thing left to do.
And also to mention the Christmas spirit running in my veins – making me all giddy and excited, got x-mas songs playing 24/7
and here are some random pics from the last couple of weeks -
My expectations are probably lower, but stil….
Yummi yummi in my tummy
The worlds best hot chocolate! (Lily o'Brien's by Bryant Park)
Waffle time, it’s waffle time, won’t you have some waffles of mine ;)
Ok guys time for me to head to bed - nighty night!! Puss!!!
My cup of tea
Just sat down on the sofa with my warm cup of tea while it is miserable and rainy outside but it is still New York so couldn’t be anywhere better. Just got back with my wet feet from a morning in Central Park having brunch at The Boat House and I had the most delicious waffles. Then we headed downtown to Century 21 - which was a nightmare for me so I was in – and out… Too many crazy people. So instead I went for some local shopping on upper east side. Now I will soon start getting ready for a night on the town – first West Village to Yummi Yummi village.
Once again i was going to upload pictures but didn't work, so i won't be able to tempt you with a picture of my delicious waffles.
Count down
Matilda and Amanda has now left after three very intense days – well I say intense but that was mostly for them. Me, I came along to dinners and drinks and they did world record shopping. It was so much fun to have the girls here and we went for another night at TAO which turned out to be the best one so far – the free drinks were flowing and we received a huge fortune cookie with personalized fortunes “Tonight, you will find adventure”. It got a bit adventures, like any night in New York but not out of the ordinary.
So now it is time to go back to reality, no more visitors for me so schoolwork is waiting and enjoying every last minute of my stay in this amazing city.
This is what I walked past on my way back from my PR lecture. I am going to miss being able to see these views in every-day-life.
The smell of X-mas
It makes my whole body tingle – you gotta love it. Me and Lisette decided to do a quiet Saturday and went to the cinema, saw Precious (brilliant but upsetting(shouldn’t I become a filmcritic?!)). On our way there we saw a corner where they sold Christmas trees and ran over there and sniffed one like we had never seen one before. The lady came up asking if we wanted to buy one – obviously we weren’t but we just looked so desperate for that wonderful scent she gave us a leftover tree stump to sniff when we want that tingly feeling again. I feel so Christmassy I should go and work in Santas workshop!
I was meant to put up a picture on our precious tree stump but this site is not cooperating with me so you just have to use your imagination.
Miss you
Right at this moment Mum and Felix are sleeping a few thousands feet up in the air on their way back to Sweden. I have had an amazing time having them here and they are already greatly missed but at the same time it is now getting very close to me being able to say: in 3 weeks I am leaving the big apple and heading back to Helsingborg. And with this comes a slight panic – I sooo have to do some studying but most importantly soo much more to do and experience here! So tomorrow Matilda and her sister Amanda are coming here so it is time for us to put on our good hostess and entertainer outfits – and party tomorrow!! GOD – only 3 more weeks –ahhhhh!!!
This was a great night Felix, doesn't always take that much. Thanks Brian!
Jag längtar så mycket till jul - få träffa er igen och tack såå mycket för en underbar vecka, jag har älskat varje minut av det - helt underbart! Kan inte utrycka i ord hur mycket jag har tyckt om att ha er här och saknar er redan super mycket!
Godnatt
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
It is the last night here for Mum and Felix and we are soon heading off to Swiss restaurant to have as close to a real thanksgiving dinner as we can get. I woke up at Seaport Inn this morning reasonably early – it was fantastic to wake up in a hotel bed and then head for a hotel breakfast (not the best though). We then went to see the parade and it was scary how quiet town was down in financial district – not so much up by Columbus Cricle. We got to se glimpse of Spongebob Squarepants, a sausage dog, ice-cream cone and then we felt it was time to give up and head back.
Tuesday we went for another brunch at Alice’s tea cup (mums new favourite) and after that we went looking for the cable car over to Roosevelt Island and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We walked almost all the way around the island and I liked it a lot – if I ever end up living in NY I can imagine myself a flat there.

Celebrating Felix's big day a little bit early
I will miss having some family here and i have had a great time this week! Thank you Mum, Dad and Felix for a fatastic week - Älskar er! Ses om 3 veckor och 4 dagar igen!
Lets go and eat some turkey!!!
Sunday came so fast
Daddy is right now on the airport and leaving the country within the hour – I have absolutely loved having him here and wish he could stay for longer. But duty calls and he had to head back to the land of Sweden. So now 9 pm me, mum and Felix are all in bed (not yet asleep though). Today we started with a breakfast at the all American diner and dad had his beloved Eggs Benedict and then a stroll down central park. Then it was time for mums dream to come true, so we went on a horse and carriage ride in the park – but mum was very picky with which horse would have the pleasure to take us.
So tomorrow it is finally time for some proper shopping at Jersey Gardens outlet mall.
I Have been waiting for this since I came, can't belive that it has already come and gone. See you dad in 4 weeks and 1 day!
So nice to know I still have Felix and Mum here untill Friday
Mummy, Daddy and ”littlely” brother aka Fillidawg!
Yesterday mum and Felix joined me and dad in nyc. We went for a meal on upper east side but they almost fell asleep by the table so we headed home and crashed in bed (sofa, mattress). And today I took them to Alice’s tea cup and we had scones and pancakes for breakfast and then took the Staten Island Ferry so we got to see Manhattan from the sea. Then we had a drink at my newly found jewel by South Sea Port. Next on our schedule was queuing musical ticket so now it is time to wake up family members to get ready for some 60’s rock classics!

Everyday life in the city
Another weekend in NY has passed and I am gonna give it up for Sunday – brilliant one! Ed was over for the weekend and woke up to sunshine and 20 degrees so we made our way down to Battery Park. We then walked north along the Hudson River and discovered a very nice square that reminded me very much of North harbour in Helsingborg. Did the classic Ground Zero and then headed east – South Seaport and found this cute New Zeeland bar and grill. Can you believe we sat out eating and drinking in t-shirts in mid-November?!
Well on Thursday dad is arriving and on Friday mum and Felix will be joining us – I sooo can’t wait! And now I know where we will go if New York will be so kind to show us a nice and sunny day.
And oh yea - we finished the evening with live stand-up comedy at the comic strip live. I def recommend this to everyone - it is at 2 avenue btw 81 and 82 street.
Love!!
Good Girl
Yes, today I’ve only done good things! I went for a run this morning and then I sat down to start writing my press release – did you know I am the new CEO of Audi AG?! Then eaten lots of good stuff and done research… One factor that might have influenced my very well-behaving is that our cable is out so no TV *buhu*. But I quite like it cause I connected my Ipod to the TV and been listening to Jack Johnson, Dan Black and Kings of Leon. So hopefully in a bit I will be able to wrap up this press release and then tonight I’ll head down town to Les Halles for a drink.
I will save this press release so that when Audi will actually announce me as their new CEO they wont have to write a new one =P
XOXOLets try again!
Omg, it’s been a while, but I do have a good excuse: the card reader I use to transfer my picture has been lost and now magically appeared today and we all know how boring it is with a blog without pics so I wanted to spear you that. So a lot has obviously happened since then and I think it is easiest for me to just upload some pictures and then try to update this thing more often.
Hmm, i'm a fotball referee with a Rangers cap and a Yankees bat!
See ya later!
Happy Halloween!
It is time to get scared – well i say that and then my outfit for today is Rebellious Referee, not that scary but cute ;) Today is like a small x-mas, nothing else is going down just waiting for everything to start. This afternoon we are heading down to the Village to watch the huge parade. I am very exited to actually see this talked about Parade and then we are going bar-hopping around it. So now I am soon gonna head out and get paper to do yellow/red cards and buy a whistle (yes, I will be the most annoying person by the end of the evening).
This is lightly dressed house here
These boots are made for walking
Oh my, have I been walking today – YES!
Waking up in Sannas bed again after dreaming of a bomb in the building and trying to convince Sanna not to take the elevator because it was not safe, I joined Sanna for a walk to school. I then spent 2 hours studying and then we decided that it was time for us to be a bit cultural and strolled over to Museum of Modern Art. It was like any other time Joey goes to look at art – very impressed in the beginning, thinking I understand it… then getting bored and starting to run through the exhibitions. But I must say that I was highly impressed by the photography exhibition! And then we kept walking for what must have been 100 hours =P It just makes me realise how much I still have to see of the Big Apple!
Good Night!
