Sangrita
Monday is funday – so I heard in our new favourite cocktail-bar, so after two sangritas at this place it goes down hill and that is now it for me tonight. I am 4 margaritas down and ready to pass out in my bed. Lucky me classes doesn’t start until 6 pm tomorrow… I’ll update you.
I miss you sooo much!!
Cheating our way through a lazy Sunday
Yes, after taking our time this morning in the apartment we decided to get some fresh air – well as fresh as it comes in NY. I bought the best tasting chocolatechip cookie ever and then we went window shopping for wine. So now we have found our new favourite shop for alcohol – dangerously close. Partly accidently we walked past the theatre and decided that a movie could not be more fitting and without knowing anything about it we bought a ticket for Julia & Julie. I don’t know what Meryl Streep was taking while filming this movie but it was still a nice one to watch. Once finished we were very tempted to sneak in and also see Fame so we acted on it and all of the sudden there we were sitting through our second movie. We have no idea if this is allowed since in Sweden you don’t even have the chance to. So 2 for 1 – we like!
Fame – not a movie to recommend tho!!
My thoughts go out to you and your family today (Monday) Ed! Wish I could be there.
School tomorrow, no idea what to expect *nerves*
I miss my funny Felix
My little brother is so funny sometimes. I was talking to him on Skype and aksed if he had read my blog, to which he answered: “not lately” so i tell him that he should so he can keep up with what his sister is doing over in the big country of the west. So he logs on and starts listing things happening on my pictures and i tell him “you can also read it you know” *sighn* agh “i can’t read all that – can’t you shorten it down for me”. You gotta love him! Boys can be funny ;)
I miss you Felix very much! You might read this post?!

Wednesday Fun
Here I am in my comfy-clothes and it is another sunny day in New York – I blame the drinks last night. Yesterday started with a power-walk in CP to then walk down to Berkeley to get some books, after all it is getting close. And then me and Sanna decided to also walk back and fell into a huge trap as we walked past a bar with sangrias on Happy hour so obviously we had to sit down and have a couple.
This then came down to us buying some wine back with us and a tiny little preparty was born. After this it all went downhill with swamp-water at Brother Jimmys but most excitingly the evening ended with us baking our own pizza at 1.30 am. We were walking home and really wanted pizza but nothing was open so a little deli had to do, there we told the shop owner about our pizza craving and a phonecall later a guy came down and opened the pizza place next door and we got to bake our own pizza which obviously meant us going a bit crazy with the topping. It was huge pizza so half of it is still sitting on our floor. Only in New York can these crazy things happen.
Saknar er där hemma!
Baseball!!

Yes - I went to see live Baseball, Mets (which apperently did really bad) Lost by 3-11
Today the Swedish girls are going to have a very calm evening in with food, sweets and girly-movies, so I better go put on my pink fluffy hotpants and hooters top - Tack mamma och pappa, älskar det!

Birthday present - Being a tourist
This day was partly planed since some time back, more precisely since my birthday when me and Lisette received a crown ticket to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. So after registering at Berkeley we headed down to Battery Park to catch the ferry and we skipped our first queue. When we arrived we were given our wrist-bands to get our proper VIP treatment =P We then went through security checks that were tougher then those at the airport and had to put all our belongings in a locker secured with my fingerprint – omg. To then climb what felt like a million stairs and it only got smaller and smaller the closer we got to the top.
But when we got to top all sweaty we were welcomed by an incredible view through tiny windows. And it was only 7 of us let up there at a time cause it is now very limited so we stayed for about 15 minutes talking to the park-rangers – Jon and Ebony. And had a little “photo shoot” with Jon to then get his email because he wanted us to send him it to put up by the Statue of Liberty as he put it “Jon with the most beautiful ladies” awww.
The camera went of all day.. We then went on to go to Ellis Islands – but Lisettes feet were well too tired to keep going so she headed home and I went on to learn some more about immigration to the States which was very interesting.
Thank you soo much Ed, Ann and David for this amazing day. I will let the rest of the story be told in pictures!
Miss you all!
Thinking
The sun is shining outside but I am sat inside with lots of thoughts. It is one of those days when some thoughts catches up with you and makes things feel upside down. I guess it all makes it feel worse because it caught me off guard. I am just very thankful that Lisette is here – somebody’s shoulder to cry on. It is just too easy to think “what could’ve been, what used to be and how should it be”…
Being so far away from everything doesn’t help probably but I knew these days would come so its just to hold out and it will get better.
Enough of these thoughts I think I have to put some comedy on tv and not think so much. And I hope the cable guy will turn up soon so that me and Lisette can head out in the sun and have our walk around Central Park.
Miss my Baby!
Put a smile on it!
Rough day
Omg – the price I have paid today for the drinks that went down yesterday is a whole day inside feeling very rough while the sun has been shining outside, a busted toe and an incredible amout of calories passing through my system. But we did have a lot of fun last night so it’s a price I am willing to pay. I got steped on which destroyed my toe, tried my first jägerbomb, went to a nightclub where the dance floor was surrounded by beds and ended the evening with Lisette taking a fall down the stairs at a private party (she is fine tho). So tomorrow we should be back to normal and I am just hoping that I will be able to put my foot in some shoes without crying =P
Soo good night to you all
Tummy ache
No such thing as boring
There is no such thing as a boring day in New York, even a day like mine now. Been lying in bed all day with my laptop and the tv running, watching the rain come down outside our window. Because even though it might not sound very exiting i can still feel the vibe from the city and there is no escaping the reality of where i am acctually doing nothing. Our plan was to walk around Central Park but when we woke up and saw the rain pouring down and heard the wind blowing we decided to postpone that for a better time – but we will do it, 6 miles of exploring.
And last night me and Lisette hit the Laundromat to get our wardrobe clean and even that felt like an adventure. So I brought my book – I heart New York (thank you Ed, Ann & David – loving it) and sat on the chairs outside on York avenue listening to the sounds of the streets.
8 years today - we wont forget!
My new hometown!
